Departure from the hotel at 08:30 a.m. towards the former nitrate towns of Humberstone, and Santa Laura to learn about their industrial machinery, where saltpeter was processed for export to Europe and the USA. Their dusty streets and ruins such as the Market, General Store, Theater, Hospital, and more. Both are declared UNESCO World Heritage Sites. We continue south on the Pan-American Highway for a Box Lunch at a CONAF Picnic Area (Tamarugal Pampa). And then a visit to the Pintados Geoglyphs Park to witness the largest exhibition of Geoglyphs in the world with over 300 figures of Geometric, Anthropomorphic, and Geomorphic types, from Pre-Columbian cultures dating back 1,400 years, located on thematic panels on the hillsides of the Cordillera de la Costa. Return to Iquique at 5:00 p.m.

Crossing Pozo Almonte and the Tamarugal Forest to reach the town of La Tirana (where the most important Religious Folkloric Festival in Chile is celebrated every July 16th). A visit to the Pica Oasis (1,300 meters above sea level), for lunch at a typical restaurant and in the afternoon enjoy the semi-thermal natural pool “Cocha Resbaladero,” and taste natural fruit juices from the oasis. Visit to Jurassic Park with its dinosaur replicas and Matilla Oasis, with its 18th-century Spanish winery, 16th-century Church, and Bell Tower. Return to Iquique at 8:00 p.m.

City tour of Iquique visiting Huayquique Beach, the Lourdes Grotto Church of Cavancha Peninsula, and the Cavancha Beach Theme Park. Coastal panoramic view to the Arturo Prat Monument followed by a walk along Baquedano Boulevard with its Georgian-style houses, to visit the Military Museum preserving remnants of the War of the Pacific such as remains of the Esmeralda Corvette and the Astoreca Palace Museum. Then Plaza Prat and its 1877 Clock Tower, the 19th-century Municipal Theater, and the Cathedral Church. Walk to the exterior area of the Replica of the Esmeralda Corvette and visit the Prat Pier with its coastal fauna and the Riquelme Fishermen’s Cove. Transfer to ZOFRI to drop off tourists for their tax-free shopping afternoon or return to the hotel.
